Molybdenum disulfide is mainly used in friction material to reduce friction at low temperature and to increase friction at high temperature, small loss on ignition and easy to volatilize in friction material, therefore, it is used in high temperature, high pressure, high speed and high load mechanical working condition to extended equipment life
In addition, it also has a diamagnetic, can be made into a semiconductor, used as a linear photoconductor and display P-type or N-type conductivity semiconductor, with the role of rectification and transduction. Molybdenum disulfide can also become a new material for the transistors production. Compared with graphene, molybdenum disulfide has a band gap of 1.8eV, so molybdenum disulfide in the field of nano-transistor has a very wide application space.
Molybdenum disulfide can also be used as a catalyst for complex hydrocarbons dehydrogenation.
